buddyslim likes to give new members a hard time :/

So this is my like 3rd of 4th attempt in posting a blog. It gets shorter and shorter every time I have to rewrite it, in fear that it wont get posted and all of what I write will be permanently deleted. grrr…

anyyyy ways!!

I am still here, I have not been able to post since the website is giving me a hard time :/ but I hope it is better now.

to recap my last week of January:
I started school (full time!), yey!!

add that to:
1. working full time
2. car breaking down on me, so now I have to take the bus everywhere.
3. my gym membership expiring.

i’m not going to let all these troubles stop me! sure they are going to (and they did) slow me down. but i’ll get back into the swing of things soon!

on the brighter side of things, I got new running shoes, finally! so no more blisters or excuses for me!! :) I can’t wait to pick up where I left off a couple of weeks ago!!

p.s. Buddyslim is not letting me post any booster notes or anything like that on anyone’s profiles. I can only post blogs (some times) and leave comments (some times)…

soooo A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who shows me support :) a special thanks to Thenewtabb!!

In case you needed another reason to give up soda (even diet!)

I was reading this article on reasons to give up soda… even diet soda!
3 shocking reasons/facts:
#1: Soda fattens up your organs
• “drinking non-diet soda leads to dramatic increases in dangerous hard-to-detect fats”
• “regular-soda drinkers experienced dramatic increases in harmful hidden fats, including liver fat and skeletal fat”
• “11 percent increase in cholesterol” when you drink regular soda everyday for 6 months compared to those who don’t
What about diet soda?
• “Artificial sweeteners and food dyes [that are found in diet sodas] have been linked to brain cell damage and hyperactivity”
• “People who drink diet soda have a higher risk of developing diabetes”
#2: Soda contains flame retardants
• “Popular soda brands use Brominated Vegetable Oil (BVO) [is] a toxic flame retardant”
• BVO “can cause bromide poisoning symptoms like skin lesions and memory loss, as well as nerve disorders”
• Mountain dew uses BVO
#3: Drinking soda makes you a lab rat
• “soda brands are sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup” which is a “Genetically engineered ingredient” and their long-term health impacts are unknown.
• “genetically engineered crops are linked to digestive tract damage, accelerated aging, and even infertility!”

So before you start to drink that next can of soda… think twice of what you are really drinking!

being depressed. sucks. big.

Depression has an interesting way of taking over my life, my motivation, my determination and especially my progress. I’m down 4 inches and I was sooo happy to know that my hard work was giving me results!! But for the next 3 days after measuring myself I fell into a deep depression. I still am in a funk even as I am typing this. I don’t know how to get out. I haven’t been able to get myself to exercise. My diet hasn’t been too bad but it defiantly isn’t as good as it needs to be. I don’t know how I allow this emotion to take over me. It puts me in such a sad state of mind. I had a voice inside my head keep telling me I have nothing to be happy about, nothing to be celebrating over. Made me feel like my 4 inches lost was nothing. I was discussed with myself. I kept hearing this voice just tell me I’m never going to be good enough. I’m never going to get where I want to be.

…. Ugh.

I don’t know what to do.

Lost 4 inches (total)!!! :]

I still have not been able to get a scale. but I took Tab’s advice and measured myself instead! I totally forgot about this method of calculating your weight loss. (thanks Tab!!) any ways, I had measured myself before I started this life style change and these were my results:
Waist (at my “smallest” area on my torso): before: 32″ Now: 30.5″ (-1.5 INCHES!!)
hips (at my “love handles”): before: 39″ Now: 37″ (-2 INCHES!!!)
Chest (around my boobies): before: 38.5″ Now: 38″ (-.5 inches… but I don’t mind LOL)

I didn’t measured my thighs or arms before but my “right now” measurements are:
Thighs: 23″
Arms: 10.5″

Great to finally be able to report weight loss in another way besides “feeling” better :)

i really need to buy a scale.

Grrr. I really need to by a scale. I have been on my weight loss journey for about 3 weeks now and I only have my start weight. I have not been able to buy a scale to weigh myself to know if I’ve dropped any pounds. Its all good though.. I can feel it in my body. I feel slimmer. smaller. but not where I want to be, not even close. but hey it’s only been 3 weeks! LOL

Anyways, hope everyone is doing great and staying on track with their goals!!

5 foods for a flatter tummy… :)

I’d though i’d share this article with you guys… It was on my homepage on yahoo. It has some simple changes you can make your your everyday diet to help reduce tummy fat/bloating. Hope It helps!

I already do #s: 1, 2 & 4. I can defiantly benefit from eating more cruciferous vegetables (#4) LOL

P.s: i think i’m going to try #5: Consuming 1 or 2 tablespoons of Apple Vinegar a day. I’m thinking I might mix it in with my water trough out the day. I’ll let you guys know how it works out!

Failure is just a rehearsal for success.

Rating Overview: 3/3 +1 bonus point
I feel sooo amazing right now!! Like I finally figured it out, as if this whole “diet” thing is finally apart of who I am. I feel like I’ve made a successful lifestyle change. It may be to early to make such a statement but that is just how I am feeling right now! It is becoming easier and easier to score a perfect rating. I think I’m going to have to UP my expectations so that I can push myself as far as I can go. But I may hold off on doing that right away, I want to make sure I can actually stick to the expectations I have right now. Maybe in about a month I’ll up the ante.

Hope everyone else is also having a great week :)

What do you hate more, being fat or working out?

I over heard this one day at the gym. A chubby girl was complaining to a personal trainer about how much she hates to work out but she wants to lose weight. The personal trainer just turns to her and says “what do you hate more, being fat or working out?” This really got my juices pumping (in a good way). It got me thinking of all the times I told myself I didn’t want to workout because of [insert excuse here]. And all of the times I ate bad because it was “easier” or I could always start again on Monday. But no, not this time. This time it WILL be different. I will make my goal and keep it. I hate having all the extra fat keeping me from what I want to do. Yeah sure I hate working out as I am actually working out, but I ALWAYS feel so good after i’m done! i just focus on the negative so much that I completely ignore the positive.

any who, hope everyone is staying on track towards their weight loss goals!

Happy Monday :)

Problems again w/BS :(

I am having problems posting up my blogs. They either come up distorted or do not get posted up at all :( very frustrating!
